The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party have met with Minister Nyesom Wike behind closed doors.
The meeting whose details are yet to be made public aims to resolve Wike’s long-standing feud with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara over control of the party’s state structure.
Wike had vowed never to support Fubara again, sparking tensions within the party.
It should be noted that the Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, recently handed over Rivers State’s party structure to Wike, recognizing his loyalists’ congresses.
This decision, many said defies tradition, where state governors lead their parties locally.
