Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has encouraged married couples to maintain romantic relationships regardless of their spiritual commitments.
In a recent Facebook post, Adeboye shared personal insights, revealing that he and his wife, Foluke, still use affectionate pet names when alone.
“The anointing does not reduce romance,” he stated, emphasising that marriage should remain vibrant and joyful.
Adeboye addressed the misconception that spiritual leaders should avoid romantic activities. He highlighted Isaac’s example from the Bible, noting that even an anointed man of God embraced intimacy with his wife.
“Isaac was sporting with Rebekah,” he referenced from Genesis 26:8, urging couples not to let spiritual duties overshadow their relationship.
He encouraged couples to rekindle the romance that initially brought them together by engaging in simple acts of love.
“Write a note and put it in their bag. Use pet names. Until today, my wife and I have special names for each other,” Adeboye shared.
The cleric concluded by advising couples to be deliberate about maintaining intimacy, stating, “Your marriage can be like heaven on earth if you remain the lovebirds you were when you first got married.”
