JUST IN: Defence Chief Musa Reveals President Tinubu’s Demands in Edo Election, Vows to Carry Them Out

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has revealed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s demands for the upcoming Edo State governorship election.

According to Musa, President Tinubu mandates a free, fair, and credible election.

“My message from Abuja is one of peace and assurance that we will conduct ourselves professionally during the election,” Musa stated.

“The election must be free, fair, and credible; anyone with intentions contrary to a peaceful election will face repercussions.”

He added, “We aim for this election to be the most peaceful ever in Edo State. This is the President’s mandate,” Musa affirmed.

“The President has no favourites; his preference is for the candidate chosen by the people of Edo, and our duty is to ensure this process is carried out fairly.”

Musa assured that the military will maintain professionalism and collaborate with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to achieve this goal.

“Any personnel who compromises will face the consequences,” he warned.

He also announced restrictions on movement during the election and banned convoys or individuals carrying weapons. According to the defence boss, only statutory security officials are allowed during the election period.
