The chartered institute of personnel management is a platform for availing personnel managers opportunity to become professionally inclined in discharging their duties for optimal output.

To regularly engage in the act of training professionals, Abeokuta was chosen for its 10th annual conference cum awards presentation which brought together members and the event climaxed with award presentations to deserving individuals and corporate organizations.

Addressing members at the event, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun represented  by the Head of  Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya said lessons learnt during the conference are invaluable and would inspire and drive positive change within respective organizations, the public service inclusive. 

He added that government recognizes the vital role that professionals play in the growth and development of the state and therefore, committed to working closely with the institute to promote best practices and drive excellence in human resource management in the public service.

He therefore appreciated the leadership of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management under the guidance of the president and chairman of governing council, Mallam Ahmed Gobir for promoting and maintaining professional human resources management practices in Nigeria.

The institute president, Mallam Ahmed Gobir in his speech appreciated Ogun State for giving opportunities for the civil servants to excel in their chosen careers by organizing training and re-training for the workforce from time to time.

He urged members especially civil servants to justify the investment of government in their career by working diligently and professionally for the success of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration. 

The Ogun State branch chairman of the institute, Engr Sean Badiru says the state leads the pack in professionalism and excellence in the field of human resource management while he thanked governor Abiodun for associating with their programmes and activities.

The State branch of the Institute later presented awards of excellence and commitment to the growth of Personnel Management in the State to Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Secretary to Ogun State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, the Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya while various corporate organizations and individuals were equally presented with awards of excellence for their contributions to the  growth of the Institute.
