Epe LG Boss To Bloggers: Stop Blackmailing Me

The Chairman, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Surah Animashaun, has told bloggers and social media users to desist and stop blackmailing her.

Animashaun rather advised them to face reality and improve the lot of the people around them in term of empowerment and well-being of the masses.

A statement issued in Epe Local Government Secretariat, Ita-Marun, Epe, said that those bloggers and social media users had been investing in blackmails against her.

Animashaun said that the only way bloggers would “dwarf” her was by achieving more and investing on the people around them, otherwise, it would amount to wasting of their precious times.

Chairperson who challenged bloggers and social media users for a road show in the city, said that most of them had made up their mind to blackmail her even before she was sworn in two-and-a-half years ago.

The statement read in part, “We do not think that the bloggers are really busy doing tangible things, otherwise they would have concentrated on their main job, instead of spreading fake rumours on their blogs and they has never said any other thing aside talking down on me.”

“Even before my inauguration in two-and-a-half years ago, prior to my sworn in as Chairperson, they had made up their mind to invest heavily on blackmail against me. So, I am just imploring them to invest in humanity, instead mere blackmailing.”

“Those bloggers and social media users should tell their audience and followers what they wants from me. Let them mention those things, so that I can take off from there…Let them mention it so that their motive can be clearer.”

“In any case, they should find out why it appears that Epe people are not excited about what they shared on the platforms, loops and social media, and also why they are not in agreement with them in all their blackmail against me.”

She reiterated her commitment to develop the local government more than how she met it, saying it was imperative to invest in humanity and well-being of the residents of the council, instead of engaging the blackmailers in their public mess.
