Ogun State government has reiterated its determination to sustain collaboration with strategic stakeholders for the overall economic growth and development of the state.
This assertion was made by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, alongside with Special Adviser on Trade, Mrs. Oluyemisi Dawudu, while playing host to a team of Nigerian Shippers Council, led by its South-West Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Garuba Muhammad, as well as concessioners, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying the state would continue to explore initiatives that were prosperous, beneficial and rewarding to the state.
Sofela, noted that the state became the investment destination of choice and industrial capital through the present administration’s reforms of growth-oriented programmes and policies.
He pointed out that the ease of doing business and land administration systems were among the initiatives which had raised the bar of economic activities in the state.
"We pride ourselves as the industrial capital of Nigeria. It is not by accident that we are next to Lagos. Our government has been very intentional in terms of its policies and programmes to make sure it constantly positions the state as investment destination of choice”, he said.
Earlier, Mr. Muhammed appreciated the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government for its prompt response to the council’s request on Vehicle Transit Area (VTA) within the state corridor by taking them round a 20-hectare proposed site for inspection, revealing that the investor was ready to move to site, as soon as final allocation was given.
He noted that the VTA would generate employment for the youths and promote haulage revenue for government.
