In a strategic effort to boost digital proficiency, Ogun State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency (OgunInvest), has organised an intensive Microsoft Digital Literacy Programme, designed to enhance staff productivity, thereby facilitating increased investment opportunities.
Speaking during the opening of the three-day Programme at the agency’s headquarters in Isheri, Special Adviser/Deputy Director-General, OgunInvest, Ms. Sola Arobieke, highlighted the importance of the training in modern digital world, stating that the training was designed to enhance participants’ ability, to effectively utilise Microsoft in managing investor relations and streamlining project management.
“Our goal with this programme is to empower our staff with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape effectively. Microsoft certification is recognised globally and by achieving this, our team will be better equipped to handle the diverse and complex tasks that come with promoting and facilitating investments in Ogun State”, she said.
While noting that the initiative was one of many training programmes in the pipeline, designed to continuously build the capacity of her team, expressing confidence that the skills acquired would not only enhance internal operations but also improve the agency's service delivery to investors and stakeholders.
She urged participants to align with the objectives of the programme and leverage the training for effective productivity.
On his part, CTO of Mercer Consulting Ltd Mr. Kenneth Collins, who doubles as the facilitator, provided in-depth tutorials and guided participants through practical exercises, covering key areas including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
He noted that the training would afford participants to create, edit and manage documents using Microsoft Word, perform complex data analysis with Excel, design impactful presentations with PowerPoint, manage emails and schedules with Outlook and oversee projects with Microsoft Project.
One of the participants, Mr. Michael Okudero, appreciated the initiative of the agency towards improving staffers’ skills on Information and Communication Technology, saying the knowledge gained would enhance their productivity.
