OGUN GOVT HOLDS YEAR 2024 PUBLIC SERVICE DAY CELEBRATIONS


 


The 2024 Public Service day starts on Friday, 9th August with  Jumat Service at the  State Secretariat  Mosque, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta by 1:00 pm.


According to a release signed  by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya in his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta stated that public service day celebration is necessary owing to the impressive contributions of the Public Service to the development of the society, and in tandem with the United Nations General Assembly’s proclamation to annually celebrate the values and virtues of Service. 


The release also stated that thanksgiving service to commemorate the week will be held on Sunday, August 10 at the Government House Chapel, Isale Igbehin, Abeokuta by 8:30am.


The programme would continue on Tuesday 13th, with a diagnostic programme tagged: ‘Know Your Health Status’ with Special Focus on the Launch of the Formal Sector Health Insurance Scheme on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta at 9.00a.m.


The  celebration features indoor games on Wednesday 14th, between 9.00a.m.-noon at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, while Football Matches for the Male and Female Teams from the Mainstream Civil Service and Parastatals will start by 2.00p.m. at the M.K.O. Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.


The activities will be rounded-off on Thursday 15th, which is the Public Service Day Symposium and will hold at the Obas' Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta at 10.00a.m with the theme “Building A Socially Responsive Public Service in the 21st Century: The Place of Ethics and Values” would be under the Lead Discussant of a former Head of Service of Ogun State and the immediate past Commissioner in the Federal Civil Service Commission, (Ogun and Lagos States), Princess Iyabo Odulate. 

All Public Servants are hereby enjoined to actively participate in all the activities lined up for the celebration and be seated at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the events.
