Secretary to State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, made this known when he received the executive members of the Ogun State Community Development Council and the State Trade Council in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, noting that the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun recognizes CDC as an umbrella body for Community Development Associations (CDAs) being the bedrock for grassroots and economic development.

Talabi said the government’s investments through the distribution of grants-in-aid and other incentives to communities aimed at creating wealth that would improve the living standard of people at the grassroots, urging stakeholders to unite in taking the state to an enviable height.

Earlier in their separate remarks, the State Chairman of CDC, Mr. Taiwo Akogun, and the representative of the Chairman of Ogun State Trade Council, Mr. John Omoniyi, appreciated the governor for his support and genuine interest in the community and trade councils.

Highpoints of the visit were the presentation of a key of a brand new 18-seater Toyota bus to the CDC by the SSG, in fulfillment of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s promise to the body during the Year 2024 Community Development Day celebration, as well as conferment of the titles of Grand Patron on the Governor and Patron on the SSG by the CDC, just as the Trade Council presented a plaque to the state’s scribe.

Meanwhile, due to his selfless service to community development, an award of recognition as Community-friendly Personality was presented to the Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Kehinde Onasanya in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
