As part of efforts to complement the state government’s strides in providing qualitative education in the three Senatorial Districts, the Federal Government through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has handed over a newly built smart model school to Ogun State government.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony of the school located in Ikenne, Ikenne Local Government Area of the state, Executive Chairman of Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, stated that the school would enable more learners to have access to quality education.
Majekodunmi, who described the structure as beautiful edifice which comprises of Pre-Primary, Primary, and Junior Secondary Schools, well-equipped with modern facilities, said it would be properly maintained as a Head Teacher and some teachers had been deployed to take charge of the school, appreciating UBEC for the initiative.
Also speaking, the Board's Secretary, Dr. Mikhail Lawal, assured that the school would be maintained and secured to serve its purpose.
Remarking, UBEC State Coordinator, Mr. Sola Badmus, urged the state government to utilise the school, as the classrooms were digitalised for the benefit of the learners, mentioning the facilities in the school to include laboratory, robot studio, library, football pitch and a lawn tennis court.
