OGSG OFFERS APPOINTMENT TO ANOTHER 1000 INTERN TEACHERS



Ogun State government has offered permanent appointment to another 1000 Ogun TEACh interns, in addition to 1000 that were employed in January and April 2024.


Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu disclosed this at a press conference in Abeokuta, saying the present administration had concluded plans to recruit 5000 teachers before its expiration.


Prof. Arigbabu, while appreciating Governor Dapo Abiodun for the notable priorities accorded the education sector, highlighted other interventions to include, supply of over 7,017 furniture to public Primary Schools, supply of 4,003 to Junior Secondary Schools, provision of over 2,377 tables and chairs, as well as capacity building for teachers across the state.


The Commissioner revealed that over 22,000 learners of Ogun State origin in all tertiary institutions in the country out of 44,000 had received N50,000, to cushion the effects of economic challenges in the country.


He stated that Four Mega Smart Classrooms driven by technology would be built in each region of the state, as Abeokuta Grammar School would serve Egba region, while Remo Secondary School would be for Remo region, Ijebu-Ode Grammar School for schools in Ijebu and Yewa College to be a model for Yewa axis.


"Our government is coming up with a policy called "School-to-Work", an initiative that helps learners in secondary schools to learn a vocational skill alongside their education. We have identified about four trades that will serve as areas of concentration for them", Arigbabu said.


While presenting Letters of Appointment to the interns after the press conference, he enjoined them to reciprocate the gesture by imparting quality knowledge to learners, saying their contributions were needed to further promote the educational legacy of the state.


Appreciating the government on behalf of others, two of the beneficiaries, Miss. Temitayo Bello and Mr. Idowu Soyinka described the recruitment as an opportunity for them to serve the state, saying the development would enhance the education system.
