Two amended Bye-Law Bills have been signed into Law by the Chairman, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Babatunde Emilola-Gazal.
The bill titled "Security Committee and Vigilante (Amended) Bye-Law 2024 and Commercial Motorcycle (Okada) and Tricycle (Keke Marwa) Operations (Amended) Bye-Law 2024.
Gazal stated that the Amended Bye-Law was aimed at enhancing means of transportation, promoting safety, minimising traffic congestion, and ensuring responsible riding practices, while the Security Committee and Vigilante Amended Bye-Law would strengthen security measures within the council area.
"As this Amended Bye-Law bill is signed into Law I urge everyone to familiarise themselves with the updated Bye-Laws and to cooperate with the Local Authorities to ensure compliance. Together, let us work towards building a stronger, more secured and prosperous community for generations to come", the Chairman said.
Also speaking, Leader of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Legislative Council, Ogbeni Adeshola Ogundare, who's under his leadership facilitated the Amended Bye-Law Bills, said the success was attained due to thorough consultation and collaboration with the relevant stakeholders in the local government to ensure the safety and well-being of community members.
This Newsplatform reports that the bill was sponsored by Hon. Samod Abiodun Balogun while it was Co-Sponsored by Hon. Olusesan Adenaike, Hon. Akeem Idowu Allison and Hon. Abiodun Lawal.
