EFFECTIVE FEEDBACK MECHANISM IS ESSENTIAL TO INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, HOS

The management of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the State has been called upon to put effective feedback mechanism as it is essential to information management.

The Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya made the call while playing host to the management team of the National Orientation Agency led by the State Director, Mrs. Olufunke Salako who came to his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

Mr. Onasanya said the agency was established to ensure that Government policies and programmes are better understood by Nigerians and that one of the mandates of NOA is to foster national unity and development by enlightening and engaging citizens with accurate and timely information.

According to him, information is power and the agency as the custodian of information dissemination must perform it's statutory roles with effectiveness and professionalism to reach out to the public positively, adding that the feedback is essential to feel the pulse of the public on issues related to Government and the governed.

He said the agency should continue to drive the nation through strategic public education, advocacy and  enlightenment programmes by consistent raising of citizens awareness through various forms of engagement with various groups such as opinion leaders, traditional and community leaders amongst others as agents of change towards achieving a better society.

He commended the agency for continuing to bridge the gap between the State and the Federal Government as well as the third tier of Government.

Mr. Onasanya said NOA should key into the building our future agenda of the present administration in the State as it has engendered development in all spheres and the propagation of these activities is key, adding that the State Government will continue to foster strategic relationship between the agency and the state owned media.

He called on the management team to explore these state owned media outlets to propagate  government activities at the federal, state and local government levels.

Earlier in her submission, Mrs. Salako said the team came to felicitate the HOS on his appointment and seek collaboration with the State Government in the course of discharging their duties within the State.

She however used the occasion to intimate the Head of Service with the needs of the agency for effective delivery of their information, communication and education programmes with the promise to work in tandem with the State Government to create awareness on State and national issues.
