CONTINUE TO EMBARK ON DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS -ABIODUN CHARGES LG CHAIRMEN

 


Determined to improve standards of living at the grassroots, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has charged all chairmen in the 20 Local Government Areas to continue to embark on people-oriented and developmental projects that will be beneficial to them.


Governor Abiodun gave the charge at the commissioning of Local Government Secretariat in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area, saying as a responsive and sensitive government, its administration would not rest on its oars at providing dividends of democracy.


He commended the council chairman for embarking on other projects which included, the installation of 620 Solar Powered Street lights across the 10 Wards, the renovation of the Ita Ogun Health facility with toilets, renovation of a block of 2-classrooms with an office at the Community Primary School, Iwopin, renovation of four classrooms with an office at St. Matthias Primary School, Ilushin, and many more.


The Governor, represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Razak Daddah, lauded the Chairman for the laudable projects executed, noting that his success was a result of his financial intelligence and the ability to optimally harness both human and financial resources.


He emphasised that the provision of social amenities and infrastructure was a collective responsibility at the Federal, State and Local Government levels, urging the chairman to do more for the socio-economic development of the community and the State.


In his address, the Chairman, Ogun Waterside LG, Hon. Mudashir Adekunle appreciated the Governor for his leadership role and support in executing the projects, calling on residents of the area to ensure their optimal use.


In their various remarks, Past Chairmen in the LG, Hon. Talabi Tundun, Elder Dr. Adesina Adekunmisi, and Hon. Lawoye Gbabijo lauded the Chairman's Administrative achievements, which had touched the nooks and crannies of the council areas.


Other dignitaries present at the commissioning were, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Directors, Local Government Affairs, as well as Mr. Olusegun Ibirinde, Inspectorate and Monitoring, Mrs. Folashade Shogbiyeju respectively, among others.
