President Bola Tinubu is set to address the nation on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in commemoration of Democracy Day.
The disclosure was made by presidential spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Tuesday.
He urged all television, radio, and electronic media outlets to join the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria network services for the broadcast, which will air at 7 am.
This address comes after President Tinubu failed to address the nation on May 29, as previously expected.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, had announced that the President would address a joint session of the National Assembly on May 29 to mark his first anniversary as Nigeria’s leader.
However, this statement was later debunked by Ngelale, who stated that the Office of the President was not involved in the planning of the event and therefore, it was not authorized.
