The Council chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Abdulsalam Ayorinde has felicitated with Muslims all over the world on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir, urging Nigerians, most especially the Muslims to imbibe the lessons of the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim and work for the unity and peace of the nation.
Ayorinde in his Sallah message said that the Eid-el-Kabir comes with great lessons, adding that the festive occasion is also a reminder of sacrifice everyone is expected to make.
He said that the sacrifice is not only for spiritual fulfilment but also for the progress of mankind and development of the society.
Ayorinde said : “As we celebrate Eid-Kabir this year, I join Muslim faithful across the country to share in the felicity of this Ileya Festival. The Eid-el-Kabir comes with significant lessons for mankind. It is a symbolic Islamic festival that is a constant reminder to us that, there will always be great rewards when we have long-lasting faith and perseverance in trying periods; diligence in prayers and tenacity in our belief.
“I felicitate with all the Muslim brothers and sisters in these country, especially Ogun State on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir. May Allah (SWT) grant us His grace to celebrate many of it in good health and wealth,” he concluded
Ayorinde also used the occasion to call on Nigerians to use the opportunity of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival to pary for the success of the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
