LIONS CLUB DONATES NEWLY RENOVATED PAEDIATRIC WARD




 


Egba Legend Club, District 404-B4 Nigeria has donated a newly renovated paediatric ward at the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta,  with a call on public spirited individuals to extend increasing support to Government at all levels in its efforts at ensuring an effective and efficient health care service to the people.


Commissioning the project, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker appreciated the laudable project carried in and out of the Pediatric ward, which included,  tiles of the entire ward, provision of a refrigerator,  donation of bed sheets, painting of in and out of the ward, construction of walk ways to easy the movement by the club,


Coker, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Hospital Management Board, Dr. Nike Elemide, encouraged other clubs to emulate the value of the club by giving back to the community, support the needy, most especially the children, saying the State Government remains ever ready to receive and partner with well-meaning Nigerians individuals and clubs.


In his speech,  the District Governor of Abeokuta, Lion Samson Abodunrin, represented by Lion[Engr.] Taiwo Fatoki, said the club has donated magnanimously to the humanitarian gesture, including Eye Centre in Ota, Ipokia. 


He added that plans were underway to commence another construction of a building project with a land to be allocated in due course.


Speaking on behalf of the Hospital Management,  Chief Medical Director, Dr. Bababunmi Osinaike appreciated the work done at the paediatric ward within short period, saying the club has impacted positively on the people of the State.


In his welcome address, Lion Ayorinde Orija explained that renovated paediatric was part of the club's effort at giving back to the society while impacting humanity.
