LATE TOWULADE OF AKINALE, AN ICON OF OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS - GOV. ABIODUN

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has described the Late Towulade of Akinale Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye as an icon and a man of outstanding accomplishments whose manifest impacts were not limited to Akinale alone but the entire Ogun State.

The Governor, represented by the Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Kehinde Onasanya gave the description when a delegation of the State Government led by the HoS paid a condolence visit to the Akinale Palace of the deceased monarch.

According to the Governor, the monarch lived an eventful life whose immense contributions to the polity and development of the State at large cannot be quantified.

Describing Oba Ogunleye as a worthy ambassador of a proud family lineage and a symbol of polished civilization of the Akinale people, Prince Abiodun, said   the passage of the monarch has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, as the town has lost a custodian of its rich culture and traditions.

"It is gratifying to note that Kabiyesi left behind proud legacies and fond memories that his name, even in death, will always evoke. In this, we all should find solace and give gratitude to God. It is my prayer that the Almighty God will give the family and the people of Akinale the strength and fortitude to bear the irreversible loss", the Governor prayed.

Responding on behalf of the family, the wife of the Monarch, Olori Olanike Ogunleye, in an emotion laden voice, extended greetings and gratitude to the State Governor for the visit and unflinching support received, coveted their continued prayers and pledged that the family and town will continue to contribute their quota to the development of the State.

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of the condolence letter to the family by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya.
