The crisis over the Kano emirate has continued as a flag has been raised at the Nassarawa mini palace, currently occupied by the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.
The traditional and official flag of the emirate which signifies the presence of an emir was hoisted on Thursday morning.
According to sources, the flag is raised daily at 6 am and lowered at 6 pm, except when the emir is officially outside the palace or travels.
Reports have it that, the flag was prepared for hoisting on Wednesday morning, with the iron rod installed, but the flag itself was brought later in the evening and raised at 6 am on Thursday.
The ongoing tussle between the two claimants to the Kano Emirate throne, Aminu Ado Bayero and Muhammadu Sanusi II, continues, with both emirs occupying separate palaces and exercising traditional and royal rites.
