The security situation around the Federal High Court in Kano State has been heightened following the commencement of hearing on the emirate crisis rocking the ancient city.
A combined team of security operative from the Kano State Police Command and the Department of State Services (DSS) were seen manning their vehicles in strategic places around the court.
The security operatives were also seen restricting movements in and around the court.
Vehicular movement around the court has also been affected due to a diversion around the court area.
Recall that Kano has been thrown into crisis following the decision of the state assembly to repeal the emirate law which created four emirate councils in the state.
Emir Ado Bayero had approached the court on protest of his removal as the emir of Kano and the reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The court also stopped the police, DSS, military and other security forces from arresting or removing Bayero as the Emir of Kano.
The situation has led to a division among indigenes of the state leading to protests in the capital city.
