The Immediate Past Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State on Housing Hon Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo rejoiced with Muslims across the globe especially Ogun State and Nigeria as they celebrate this year’s eid-el-Kabir festival.
He urged all Muslims to continue on the path of patience, spirituality and imbibe the spirit of sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim and further urged the people to keep hope alive to promote peace and unity.
In his message, Hon.Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo called for prayers and unity of purpose among the people at this period of eid-el-Kabir.
He urged Muslims to use the opportunity of the Eid-el-Kabir to pray for leaders to be able to find solutions to key national issues.
He called on Muslims to imbibe the habit of sacrifice and love for one another as characterised by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“As Muslim brothers and sisters, always make frantic efforts to emulate the virtues of the Holy Prophet, whose life is a perfect example of what a Muslim should be.
“The act of sacrifice, one of the major lessons of the Eid-el-Kabir, should be part of daily lives at all times. We must make sacrifices for ourselves, our families, our friends, our neighbours and of course, our country to promote religious tolerance and peace.
Oyegbola enjoined all Muslims to continue to be good citizens and make meaningful contributions for our continuous peaceful coexistence.
“On behalf of myself and family, I wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Abeokuta North LG and in Ogun State State a happy and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
“Eid-al-Adha is a symbolic event in the history of mankind, given the bountiful rewards that followed the sprit of obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, who held on tenaciously to his faith in God despite being afflicted.
“The celebration is a reminder to all faithfuls that there is always a great rewards when we have faith and patience during trying periods, persistence in prayers, and tenacity in our beliefs.
Happy Eid-el-Kabir to all Muslims Ummah, may Allah accept all your acts of love, kindness and genuine sacrifices.
