The Concerned Citizens of over 200 indigenes made this known in a press Conference organized by the group at Imope Town Hall.
Speaking, the spokesperson for the Group, Chief Shina Abimbola Awobote said High Chief Tajudeen Kolawole Omotayo has been parading himself as the king of Imope Saying he is not a citizen of Imope by descendants.
In his words" Currently high Chief Tajudeen Kolawole is the Baale of the Town but the people of the town is disowning him as the citizen of Imope as he is claiming to be from the fidipote family.
Let me Emphasize this, it is high time that Imope Town have a king but High Chief Tajudeen Kolawole is lobbying to become a king, infact he has declared himself as the king of the town, calling himself the Alademeta of the town.
Even the fidipote family he is claiming to be is not true according to record and their is no lineage of fidipote in Imope.
We don't want him as our king, Even his reign as the Baale, he has sold the means of resources of the town. Imope Town is known for moulding Clay pot, but he has sold the land of clay which makes it difficult for the moulder of clay pot to mould as it now require buying against what they dug free of charge." Awobote said.
