The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved various contracts aimed at enhancing infrastructure development across the country.
Among the projects approved are the construction of bus terminals and transport facilities in Abuja, road upgrades, building of a Court of Appeal division, installation of street lights, and road reconstruction.
Building of Bus Terminals and Transport Facilities in Abuja:
Terminals will be constructed at Kugbo, Abuja Central Business District, and Mabushi within 15 months.
The project, costing N51 billion, will be executed by Planet Projects Nigeria Limited, known for similar contracts in Lagos and Oyo states.
Upgrade of Kwaita-Yebu Road in Kuje Area Council, Abuja:
Contract awarded to Messrs El & Matt Nigeria Limited for N7.6 billion.
Completion time is set at 18 months.
Construction of the Court of Appeal Abuja Division:
Awarded to Messrs Visible Construction Limited for N37.2 billion.
Installation of Street Lights on Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Expressway:
Contract awarded at a cost of N412 million.
The project includes procurement of 8 backup generators powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Solar, aligning with the government’s commitment to transitioning to renewable energy.
Reconstruction of Koton-Karfe -Abaji Road (Abuja bound), along Abuja-Lokoja Route in Kogi state: Contract awarded for N89 billion.
