SHUN SOCIAL VICES, DSAP RECTOR URGES NEW INTAKES




 


The Rector of D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori-Ewekoro, Ogun, State Dr. Goke Rauf, has advised newly admitted students of the Polytechnic to steer clear of cultism, violence, examination malpractices and other misconducts capable of tainting there character.


The Rector gave the charge during the 18th edition of the Institution's matriculation ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session. 


Dr. Rauf assured the new students that the  Polytechnic will do her own part in ensuring that their time in the Institution is academically and socially fulfilling, adding however, that they too should observe all the "tenets of moral uprightness as part of the core values" that the Institution is known for. 


In his address at the event, the Institution's Governing Council Chairman, Amb. Toye Okanlawon urged the students to be innovative in embracing opportunities and and challenges offered them by their new status as students of the Polytechnic. 


Amb. Okanlawon reaffirmed that Ogun State, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun was committed to ensuring that the teeming youths of the State have access to quality and affordable education. 


The Chairman also announced exciting developments which were set to boost the morale of the entire Polytechnic Community, including "new state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge programmes, and strategic partnerships to enhance students’ learning experience and career prospects". He also informed the gathering that the payment of a new minimum  wage to DSAP staff will commence from the month of June 2024.


In a goodwill message delivered by the Ogun State Commissioner for Education Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, the new students were urged to pursue academic excellence. 


Prof Arigbabu urged the students: "embrace every opportunity that comes your way. Engage in meaningful conversations, explore diverse perspectives, and dare to dream big." He added "Remember, it is your passion, perseverance, and dedication that will set you apart and propel you towards success."
