SAGAMU MONARCH EMPOWERS INDIGENES TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY

 


Over fifty indigenes of Oko Community in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogn State have received cash donations, as part efforts of Aminisan, the Fesikilo ll of Oko Community, Ọba Babatunde Odunayo, to mark his first year coronation anniversary.


Oba Odunayo, who expressed joy for being on the throne of his forefathers, said the commissioning of borehole water project, situated at two strategic places in Isale Oko, as well as generating set were in addition to the cash donations, informed that the gesture was part of his service to humanity and to put smile on the faces of the people, promising to remain committed to embarking on people-oriented projects, to promote socio-economic development of the community.


In his sermon at a thanksgiving service, organised in honour of the Aminisan, the Vicar, St. John Anglican Church, Ijoku, Sagamu, Ven. Tolu Akinwande, tagged, ”God's Love”, commended him for his belief in  serving the people, urging traditional rulers to always submit to the will of God in all they do to show their love for God.


Speaking, the Baba Ijo, St. John Anglican Church, Ijoku, Sagamu, Olootu Omooba Michael Oyedele, commended the monarch for the initiative that would ensure constant power and stable water supply for the people, as well as improve socio-economic development of the community.


He described traditional institution as the life wire of the people and a bridge between the government and the governed, soliciting for the traditional rulers’ unflinching support for the successful implementation of the present administration’s ‘ISEYA’ mantra, to fast track growth in the communities and the state in general.


Contributing, Iya Ijo, St. John Anglican Church, Ijoku, Sagamu, Yeye Adefunmilayo Arikawe, appreciated the monarch for the kind gesture, urging beneficiaries to imbibe maintenance culture and promote peaceful coexistence for sustainable development


Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, some residents of Oko community Dauda Sobowale and Iyabode Adelarin, appreciated the royal father for the donation and embarking on water project which they said had brought succour to the people in the community.
