OGUN ASSEMBLY CALLS ON HEALTH MINISTRY TO INVESTIGATE FAKE SITE ADVERTISING NURSING SCHOOLS' ADMISSION

Ogun State House of Assembly has called on the State Ministry of health to sensitise prospective applicants into its Colleges of Nursing spread across the State to be wary of some fake online sites/ websites soliciting money from the applicants.

The Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide made the call, shortly after the Minority Leader, Hon. Lukman Adeleye raised the issue under matter of urgent public importance, saying he received calls from his constituents, whose wards were prospective applicants to the institutions who had received complaints that there was an existence of some cloned sites online pretending to be the institution's site.

The Speaker cautioned parents and guardians of prospective applicants to be careful, by ensuring that they seek clarification from the State Ministry of Health before proceeding on the admission process for their wards; saying that the fake site was one of the challenges of information and communication technology.

Earlier in his presentation, the Minority Leader stressed the need for the Management of the State Ministry of Health to educate prospective applicants on the features of the original website of the institution, while counselling the applicants to link up with Ministry to inquire about admission process to the institution and avoid any form of online financial transactions on the fake site.
