OGIJO RESIDENTS LAUD ABIODUN FOR RECONSTRUCTING HOSPITAL ROAD, MAKING LIFE MEANINGFUL

 



Residents of Ogijo community in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, have expressed joy over the reconstruction and commissioning of the deplorable Hospital Road, commending the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for rekindling their hope and improving their socio-economic life.


At the event, some members of the community, led by the Ologijo of Ogijo, Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi, recalled that the road had been in a very bad condition and brought untold hardship for both motorists and pedestrians, causing adverse effects on the economy, appreciating the state government for reconstructing the road.


The Monarch pointed out that the road had economic importance to the township, as it links about 50 communities, urging Ogijo residents to support the government so as to achieve more.


 While corroborating that the road was hitherto a death trap, Babaloja of Ogijo, Chief Lukman Awokoya, enthused that it had been transformed into an accessible route that would usher greater economic prospects and boost business activities in the area.


Also speaking, President, Youth Development Association, Prince Kalejaye Adesina, said the newly commissioned road would ease the movement of road users and engender socio-economic growth in the communities.


Thanking the state government for its intervention, Market Leader in Sagamu Local Government, Chief Mrs. Olasode Oduwaye, noted that the construction would address the challenge of flooding and make life more  meaningful for residents


 In their different contributions, a commercial driver, Chinedu Ifeanyi and a farmer, Fatai Adesanya, observed that the road would fast-track movement of commodities, without stress and unnecessary waste of productive hours.


They lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his infrastructural development, saying the people were in support of his administration.


           Earlier, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, revealed that the reconstruction of the road was in fulfilment of the governor’s pledge to spread the dividend of democracy to every nook and cranny of the State, assuring that the present administration was determined to deliver quality, durable and accessible roads, as well as leave a legacy of an indelible social intervention that impacts positively on the people and the state’s economy.


 "Let me assure you that the state government, Prince Dapo Abiodun has made it a priority to ensure that roads are upgraded to standard, thus fulfilling his electioneering campaign promised to the citizens", he said.
