The Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, partially closed to traffic for the past seven weeks, has been reopened after completing comprehensive repair works.
The reopening comes with the installation of lane markings, new streetlights, and CCTV cameras along the bridge.
In a statement, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, confirmed the bridge’s reopening.
He announced that the Third Mainland Bridge would resume today, marking the end of the repair phase.
“We sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation, and we look forward to even smoother travels ahead,” Osiyemi stated.
The extensive repair works on the Third Mainland Bridge were initiated to address structural issues and ensure the safety of commuters.
The Third Mainland Bridge is one of the busiest bridges in Nigeria.
