As part of efforts to cushion the effect of economic hardship, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has distributed palliatives of bags of rice to indigent residents of Ijebu-Ode during the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
Speaking during the distribution at Ijebu-Ode, Chairman, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area, Hon. Babatunde Emilola-Gazal, said the gesture would enable the people to celebrate Eid-el-Fitri with joyful heart of thanksgiving to Almighty Allah.
The Chairman disclosed that the palliatives had been distributed to various Praying Grounds in Ijebu-Ode, assuring that the state government would not relent at improving the socio-economic well-being of its citizens.
Also speaking, Consultant to Ogun State Governor on Media, Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye, said the sharing of the rice to Muslim Faithful during the celebration, was Governor Dapo Abiodun’s commitment in ensuring that the less- privileged at the grassroots have direct access to the food item.
Some of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Akorede Kafayat and Mrs. Taiwo Abdul, thanked Governor Abiodun for the palliatives, saying the gesture would enable them to celebrate the festival.
