"We are committed to expediting the approval of the 2024 Budget Proposal." - Hon. Ogundare



The Leader of the 9th Legislative Council of Ijebu Ode Local Government, Hon. Ogundare Adeshola has assured that there would be speedy passage of the 2024 Budget Proposal submitted by the Executive chairman of the council so as to become bye law in the Interest of the people.


The Leader of the House made this known during an interview with our Correspondent.


Recall that the Budget tagged" Budget of Consolidation" totaling N6, 169,746,100.00 was submitted to the Legislative Council today.


Hon. Ogundare said this the third budget to be submitted during this Administration, we have always done our best during the past budget presentation and we will do same to this one also.


In his word" We are going to Scrutinized it going by the International Standard and do the needful so as to ensure that the development of Ijebu ode Local Government continues under this Administration to the benefits of our People


Be assured that we are going to expedite action and we expect the Executive Arm to also do the needful by giving us a level playing ground, so as not to waste time. All hand must be on deck to act fast, so that we can also implement those agenda the Executive Chairman has for the people of Ijebu ode Local Government.


Let me add this, the legislators will all know is not about passing budget alone but also in accordance to our oversight function, we are also trying to amend some of our bye law that has been obsolete, we are going to amend it to feel the reality of the day. Very soon we will be calling for a public hearing, were stakeholders will be coming to share their opinion on the proposed bye law Amendment. We will need there input so that we can come up with a clean bill of bye law for the Local Government for the development and improvement of the security of lives and property of our people.


I plead that all invited stakeholders to troop out  to witness the occasion so that we can have all inclusive bye law for the Local Government coming up on the 21st of March 2024." Hon Ogundare Said.
