Standup For Women Society, SWS, Ogun State Chapter has decorated the Asiwaju of Orile Imo, High Chief Dr. Olakunle Olalekan( JP) as the patron of the Association.
The decoration came up on Wednesday March, 6th march 2024 at Continental Suites , Ibara Abeokuta.
Other dignitaries honored along the community leader were the National President, ACOMORAN, Samsideen Adebayo Apelogun, the Ogun State Chairman , ACOMORAN, Comrade Kayode Sowunmi(JP) and other dignitaries present.
The Topic of the program titled "Accelerating Gender Quality, through Economic Empowerment was to celebrate the 2024 International Women's Day Award and Investiture.
The State Chairperson, Mrs Folake Ade-Adeniji while speaking with newsmen said Asiwaju of Orile-Imo was considered for the position based on his antecedents of contributions to humanity in the country and his great love for women.
She said their choice of Chief Olakunle was on merit, saying that it was a unanimous decision of the Association.
The State Chairperson said "The recipient did not solicit for this award, but it was bestowed on him for other community leaders to emulate.
“Asiwaju of Orile Imo has done so much for the people especially women around him. We are proud of him anytime and any day for his good deeds"
"It was the decision of Standup for Women Society to appreciate him, so that others would emulate him,’’ She concluded.
The community leader while speaking appreciated the women for the honor, saying that he is happy to receive their patron award from women.
"Women are the backbone of families and communities. They provide care, support, and nurturing to their families and are essential to the development of children. Women also play a significant role in community building and often take on leadership roles she added
Other present were NSCDC officials, Fire Service officials, Trace officers, the ministry of women affairs, Civil Societies and students from different schools.
