The remains of late Deaconess (Mrs.) Aduke IDOWU-ADESANYA (aka Mama Simawa, Iya Gateway, Iya Better Life), mother of the hospitality guru, Segun IDOWU-ADESANYA, popularly referred to as Segun Kajiko, will be laid to rest on Friday, 8th June, 2024.
This was contained in a preliminary obsequies released by the family
According to the statement, a Traditional Dance and ASA will hold on Thursday, 6th June, 2024, at Simawa, Ogun State, while Christian Wake and Service of Songs for the late matriarch holds on Friday, 7th June, 2024 at Sagamu.
The deceased will be interred after a funeral service that will hold on Saturday, 8th June, 2024, at Sagamu.
Deaconess Aduke ADESANYA, a devout christian, was the Iya Ijo, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Iyanu, Sagamu, before her glorious transition to the great beyond on 17th February, 2024, at a very ripe age of 99.
Born into the family of late Pa SODIMU of Imo Elese Community in Egbaland, Aduke is the eldest child of her father popularly called Gbelekale, who owned the first storey building in Simawa and environment.
A loving wife and caring mother who nurtured her children to greatness, and also impacted positively on the lives of several other children, Deaconess ADESANYA is survived by successful children, among whom are Arch. Biodun ADESANYA; and Mrs. Bola EGWU. Others are Mrs. Oluwabunmi IDOWU-OLOYEDE; and Mr. Tunde ADESANYA, both based in the United Kingdom. The list also include the Republic of Ireland-based Segun IDOWU-ADESANYA (Segun Kajiko), CEO, Revolution Club and Hotel, Revolution Delivery Service, and Revolution Restaurant, Lounge and Park, Sagamu; and Kemi TOMIDE-JOHNSON (Kemi Klimax), who is also based in the United Kingdom.
A community development advocate, agriculture entrepreneur and education enthusiast, Madam IDOWU-ADESANYA was the leader, Better Life for Rural Dwellers, a pet programme founded by the former Nigerian First Lady, late Maryam BABANGIDA.
Infact, she facilitated the establishment of the Gari Processing Factory at Simawa, and was instrumental to the return of Simawa High School back to its original location in the town, after its scrapping and merger with another school outside the town.
She was also Patroness, Kajiko House in the same school.
May her gentle soul continue to rest in the Lord's bosom.
