A sum of N5.188 billion has been budgeted to be expended by Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State for the year 2024, to further ensure growth and development of the local government.
The Local Government Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Odulate, who presented the budget proposal of N5,188,793,100.00 tagged, "Budget of Sustained Growth and Development", before the Legislative Council, at the Local Government Secretariat, Sagamu, explained that the budget was designed to achieve the objectives of the council development plan, towards impacting the populace.
Breaking down the budget, Hon. Odulate stated that a sum of N282,702,500.00 was earmarked for Overhead Cost; N1,228, 510,600.00, as Personnel cost; consolidated revenue fund charges stood at N3,077,500,000.00, while Capital Expenditure was put at N600,080,000.00.
He stated that his administration had commenced construction of major roads across the council area, particularly, Cinema, Rev. Mellor, Isale-Oko Garage and Hospital Roads in Sagamu, as well as, Ogijo Road, among others, while not relenting on renovation of some markets, assuring that the budget when passed, would be religiously implemented for the benefit of people at the grassroots.
The Chairman appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for his landmark development across the state, saying, "His Excellency’s projects were worthwhile and had impacted the lives of people positively".
On his part, the Leader of the House, Hon. Ojuroye Ayodele, while commending the Chairman's developmental efforts, promised that the budget would be given speedy consideration.
