As part of efforts to put smiles on the faces of Muslim Faithful by cushioning the effect of economic hardship, especially during the Ramadan period, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has distributed bags of rice to Muslims.
The distribution which took place at the Governor's Office Mosque Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, became an atmosphere of joy and excitement for Muslims, who came to observe Jumat.
Addressing the congregation after Jumat service, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who disclosed that the state government had selected some mosques across the state, where simultaneous distribution would take place, called for more support in prayers, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, so as to be able to do more, urging them to shun all immoral acts that could hinder their prayers from being answered.
She thanked Muslims for their support in prayers since 2019 till date, admonishing them not to relent but continue to support Dapo Abiodun-led government for a successful second term.
Also at Kobiti Central Mosque, Abeokuta, Governor Dapo Abiodun explained that the gesture was part of government's commitment to the welfare of the citizens.
While distributing the bags of rice, Governor Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, promised to give out more palliatives to the people, enjoining them to use the Ramadan period to pray fervently for the peace and progress of the country.
Some beneficiaries, Mrs. Atoke Ogunseun Folarin, Mr. Musbau Abiola and Mrs. Mulikat, who expressed gratitude to the state government for the gesture, prayed that Almighty Allah to continue to guide and grant him the wisdom to take the state to a greater height. pledging their continuous support to the government.
