DEGBUYI REMO INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS

Egbe Degbuyi Remo, the foremost socio-cultural age-grade group in Remoland has inducted fourteen new members into the group, bringing its total membership strength to fifty.


The new inductees whose membership cuts across the Remo towns were inducted virtually on zoom, on Sunday, 17th March, 2024.


Their induction was consequent upon a very rigorous and painstaking admission and screening process and procedures anchored by the Admissions and Screening Committee, led by Gbuyi Dr. Olajuwon Ariyo ABIJO. These include the application, screening/background check, the online meet and greet session with the old members, the bonding/orientation/pre-induction exercise, where the inductees were engaged and taken through the rules and procedures of the group by past and present officials, including the Pioneer Coordinator, Gbuyi Adesanya AMOS; the first and immediate-past Giwa, Gbuyi Alaba OGUNSOLA; Secretary Gbuyi (Surv.) Adetola OLADEINDE; Treasurer, Gbuyi Olajide ODUBONA; amongst others.


During the induction, membership oath was administered on them by the Giwa Egbe, Gbuyi Saheed OLOYEDE,  wherein the members pledged to abide with, and operate by the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the group, as enshrined in its constitution. 


They were all subsequently welcomed into the group by all members as they were wished a very rewarding and remarkable membership that will add value to both the Egbe and Remoland in general.


The newly-inducted members who are based at home and in the diaspora, were found to be of good character and sound mind, and are professionals who are successful in their various chosen fields and vocation, ranging from banking to real estate, architecture, engineering, hospitality, nursing, health and social care.

While responding, they expressed their appreciation to the Giwa, the executive, the Admissions and Screening Committee, and the entire members, for the great opportunity extended to them of becoming members of the prestigious group, as they all unanimously pledged to contribute their quota towards the continuous development of the group and Remoland.


The Gbuyi ABIJO-led committee which comprised of other members such as Gbuyi Olla BADMUS, Secretary; Gbuyi Yinka OKUNOREN; Gbuyi Kola AWOSANYA; Gbuyi Soga ADEKOYA; and Gbuyi Gbolahan ADEKOYA, shall organize a formal and befitting induction ceremony for the new members later in the year.
