Following alleged invasion of some unknown herdsmen of Orile - Omo community in Obafemi Owode local government area of Ogun State, the Council Chairman, Hon. Amb. Lanre Ogunsola has allayed the fears of residents of the community.
He urged the traditional rulers and hunters to be vigilant, saying that should always inform the security agencies when they discover suspicious around.
He made this known while speaking at a Security Stakeholders meeting held at the town with security agencies, traditional rulers, Chiefs, Youth leaders and local security outfits in attendance.
Ogunsola noted that the State government was on top the matter, hence the need for the meeting, saying there is no cause for alarm.
The council chairman, however, urged the community to continue to coexist peacefully, urging the residents of the community to always help the government, security agencies with necessary information.
He urged the residents not to panic, adding that the security agencies are alive to their responsibilities and they are ready to ensure safety of lives and properties.
"I want to urge you all to be law-abiding and not to hesitate in raising an alarm when you notice suspicious activities in your community.
"Security remained everyone’s business, you should be able to work with the government in containing any threat that could potentially disturb the peace in the community" he concluded
Also the Asiwaju of Orile Imo, High Chief Olakunle Olalekan urged the residents to remain calm, saying that there is no cause of alarm.
He added that the traditional rulers will not relent in ensuring the security of lives and properties of the people.
