Ogun State Statistician-General, Mr. Michael Ajayi has solicited for synergy with the National Bureau of Statistics in the areas of capacity building, State Gross Domestic Product (GDP), calculations as well as Surveys and Censuses.
Mr. Ajayi made the call while welcoming the newly posted State Officer, National Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Olugbenga Olowoyeye and his team in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, soliciting for system operations in the state.
The Statistician-General stated further that both the state and national agencies should team up for the production of statistical data in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as Local Government Areas (LGAs), saying the state Bureau should always be informed of capacity building of its officers to be trained by the National Bureau of Statistics.
The Director, Economic and Social Statistics in the Bureau, Mr. Abimbola Bolarinde, thanked the newly posted Officer and his team for the courtesy call, assuring the team of a conducive environment and provision of necessary tools to make their work easier.
Earlier, the newly posted national officer, Mr. Olowoyeye, said the visit was to familiarise himself with officers of the state Bureau, seeking the support and cooperation of the State Bureau.
He expressed unalloyed support for the Bureau, while also promising to enhance the cordial relationship already existing between the two agencies and appreciated the state government for creating an enabling environment.
