Members of Ewuga and Apele Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State have been commended for their collaborative efforts in constructing a culvert bridge worth N4.5 million and grading of a 1km road linking Ewuga and Apele communities, for socio- economic wellbeing of the people.
The Vice-Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Salami Isiaka, made the commendation in Sagamu, while appreciating them for the huge self-help project embarked upon by the CDAs, calling on other CDAs to emulate the gesture, particularly the contributions of Madam Ojuroye Dawodu’s children towards the success of the projects.
Isiaka advised citizens to join hands with the local and state governments towards improving the living standard of the people, adding that though it was government's responsibilities to grade roads and provide other amenities, other well-meaning indigenes and philanthropists, home and abroad should join in promoting socio-economic life of the people through road grading, construction among others.
In his remarks, Apele CDA Chairman, Mr. Lawal Adedeji, appealed to government for the construction of drainage and total completion of the road, to boost the commercial activities of the area, urging residents to maintain the current peace in the area and continue to pray for the success of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, Comrade Olawale Onayemi, who appreciated the level of work done, noted that the projects would mitigate the hardship, especially the challenge of flooding encountered by the people, lauding Dawodu’s children for giving back to the community.
