The Society of Fellows of the Remo Diocese (Anglican Communion) has called on members of the communion in Iperu to join and become a member of the society.
Making this call in Iperu on Sunday was the President of The Society, Engr. Mota ODUMUSI, when he led members to its monthly meeting at the town.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service held at St. James' Anglican Church, Iperu, ODUMUSI urged eligible members of the St. James' Anglican Church, and other churches within the arch-deaconries in Iperu, to enrol as members of the society and join in propagating the gospel of God, and contributing to the overall development of the diocese.
According to the President, St. James' Anglican Church, Iperu, being the first church in the entire Remo and Ijebu lands, should always maintain a leading role in all aspects.
He specifically appealed to the younger ones in the 25-40 age bracket to endeavour to join the society, as the older ones are willing to serve and guide them in an advisory capacity.
Also speaking in the same vein, Bro. Jide SOSAN, a member of the Society of Fellows, and President, Men's Christian Fellowship, Remo Diocese, (Anglican Communion), corroborated the President, as he called on anglican parishioners in the Iperu Arch-deaconries to become a member of the society.
Earlier in his sermon, Rev. Canon BELLO charged the congregation to be more committed and dedicated to the work in the Lord's vineyard. He enjoined them to seek the kingdom of God first, while other things shall follows.
Reading the scriptures, from the books of Luke, chapter 6, verse 20; Mathew 16, verse 26; the clergy urged everyone to surrender themselves to God, in order to receive more blessings, as whatever one does will be accounted for.
"If we allow the world value standard to direct our affairs, we are in danger, but if we surrender everything in our lives to God, we shall be blessed", said the Canon.
He enjoined them to allow God to design their plans for the year, and desist from all worldly things.
He further charged them to ask themselves the question of whether what they are doing with their lives is the one that showcases them as someone who is closer to God to enjoy God's grace and blessings, or one that is driven away from God by their attitudes.
Prayer were offered to the members by the Vicar, Ven. Shadrack AJILEYE, while they subsequently moved to the Akesan Iperu Club 1954 for their meeting hosted by Bro. Jide SOSAN.
