Puntuality a game changer for growth and productivity - Olanloye




 



The importance of punctuality has once again been described as the very essence of business and the spring board that shoots up any endeavour that is programmed to thrive. 

This assertion was made by the Chairman of the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission, Evangelist Joshua Olalekan Ifede during the maiden edition of the Dr. Waheed Olanloye annual Puntuality Award reward for the most  puntual staff of the commission in the of held in the Conference room of the commission .

Speaking further, Evang. Ifede explained that productivity and optimal performance are best achieved at the early hours of the day in any work place and any employee that key into that would definitely achieve maximum results which would inturn profits the organization he or she work for.

Also Speaking during the award presentation, the initiator of the Award, who was the immediate past Permanent secretary of the Commission, Dr Waheed Olanloye said  that it was while he was still in  TESCOM that he thought about the idea of the reward system in order to spur staffers of the commission to be more committed to their duties  by being punctual at all times, saying that amongst all other factors that influence positive results in the work place, punctuality stood aloof as the soul of business as it is the instrument for development, growth and productivity,  hence, the need for him to encourage staff to up their game. 

He said that he had planned to have the maiden award presentation at the end of this year, but, as duty called on him to be assigned to another agency, however, that did not deter him from continuing with the project. He thereafter appreciated the chairman of the Commission for his  forthrightness and for   allowing the  vision to fly.

Receiving the punctuality award, the recipient, Mrs Esther Ogunremi expressed her gratitude to God for keeping her alive and for giving her the vigour to wake up early and arrive at the office by 6:am. She also appreciated Dr. Olanloye for the gesture, promising not to rest on her oars 

In his remarks, Commissioner 1 in the Teaching Service Commission, Hon. Adeola Akintande commended the recipient for her commitment and passion for work which reflected largely in the time she arrived at work. 


Also, during his remarks, Commissioner 11, Hon. Moruf Adesegun advised the recipient to appreciate her husband who  cooperated  and supported her in ensuring that she arrived at the office early enough to win the coveted price. 

While giving her landmark note, the current Permanent secretary, TESCOM, Mrs Melutia Ogunremi advised other staff of the agency to emulate the work ethics of  the recipient by being punctual and being found at their respective duty posts at all times, while charging the recipient to continue in putting more effort as the reward for hard  work is more work .

High points of the award ceremony was the presentation of ornamental plaque and cash prize of twenty thousand naira with an additional incentives added by the two Commissioners present at the event.
