Governor Dapo Abiodun has been honoured with an award of excellence for his unflinching support and sterling performance in investment in the workers of the State through sponsorship and organisation of trainings, workshops, seminars and other skill acquisition programmes for Civil Servants in the State.
While receiving the prestigious award on behalf of the governor and himself in his office, the Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, said the State invests more in people and places high premium on its workers because if well trained and regularly too, the best would be brought out of them, as envisioned by the governor.
"Ogun State is an investor in people and our workers are priced high because no matter what you want to do, you get it done through people, therefore, government has taken it upon itself to ensure that the workers are regularly trained. Since I came on board, we have trained over 400 workers and we have secured an approval to train another 100 from Grade Levels 14-16 in the Civil Service and that shows the commitment of the government towards capacity building of its workers", the HoS said.
Mr. Fagbohun said that governor Abiodun is compassionate and caring and can do anything to ensure that its workers be at their best all the time by providing conducive environment and platforms for them to perform optimally.
The Head of Service, who was also honoured along with the governor said that the Institute is also interested in the training of the workers and that formed the reason behind the government collaborating and partnering with them.
He appreciated the National and the Ogun State branch of the Institute for the honour done them and promised continued support and collaboration with them to further increase the skills of the workers.
Earlier in his awards presentation, the State Chairman of CIPM, Engr. Sean Badiru, said the two recipients are exemplary leaders who cherish the training and retraining of the workforce, thus, giving it a pride of place in their hearts.
He said the awards were meant to appreciate their unflinching support, and added that the National body during its 55th International Conference and Exhibition held recently in Abuja found them worthy to be so honoured.
