OGUN HEALTH SECTOR HAS 12 PERCENT OF 2024 BUDGET




 


Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has earmarked a sum of N81,185.66billion for the provision of affordable and qualitative health care delivery in the State in the next fiscal year.


Governor Abiodun disclosed this while presenting the 2024 Appropriation Bill to the state House of Assembly in Abeokuta.


He said that his administration had prioritised the healthcare delivery and accessibility for all residents by increasing the capacity of the healthcare delivery system, adding that over 100 Primary Health Centers have been renovated across 100wards in the state out of the 236 facilities targeted.


Abiodun stated that the present government had increased the healthcare response ambulance system by procuring and equipping over 50 state-of-the-art ambulances for the urban centers, and about 100 tricycle ambulances for the rural areas which would run a 24-hour service with experienced medical personnel, for the easy access of its citizenry to good healthcare services.


The Governor hinted that the State government in collaboration with development partners had begun the construction of fully automated Central Medical Store in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta in line with World Health Organisation (WHO) standard.
