OGUN ASSEMBLY TASKS HIGHER INSTITUTIONS ON IMPROVED PROCESSING OF TRANSCRIPT, COUNSELS ON AFFORDABLE FEES

Ogun State House of Assembly has tasked the management teams of the State-owned tertiary institutions of learning to be more proactive by further leveraging on the gains of technology to speed up the process of issuing academic records including transcript request by their products to the required destination across the world within a record time.

The Assembly members took turn to speak today during the appearance of the Heads of the State owned Universities and Polytechnics at the ongoing 2024 budget defence by the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The State lawmakers explained that the delayed that was always being experienced by the students needed to be immediately addressed through a more seamless processing of the transcript request to enable them fulfill their academic pursuit in any part of the globe.

The lawmakers implored them to always consider the present economic situation, thereby making whatever increament in their school fees reflect human face, nothing that it had become imperative for the State Government to consider increasing the subvention to the institutions to ease their finances for improved service delivery.

According to the Assemblymen, the improved subvention would enhance smooth accreditation of relevant courses and programmes in the schools, thus repositioning and making them more attractive to the existing and prospective students.

Citing the recent cases of insecurity around the campuses of some of the schools across the State, the lawmakers sought for improved security network to checkmate threats  to the lives and property of the students and other residents both on campuses and within the institutions' immediate community.
