Prof. Arigbabu noted that the centre would run courses like, tailoring, photography, computer among others, saying the initiative would go a long way to help those who want to acquire vocational skills as a means of livelihood.

He added, "The focus was to make the Centre functional by bringing some technical school programmes in and also running some vocational courses. We are also thinking of upgrading it to a technical college".

The Commissioner noted that the government had long been working towards repositioning technical colleges across the State to be identified with a certain programme, such as the one at Idi-Aba for hospitality and Ijebu-Ode for carpentry.

In another development, Prof. Arigbabu has paid a visit to Social Development Institute, Shasha in Iperu, promising that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration would rehabilitate all the classrooms, boys' and girls’ hostels as well as teachers' quarters, to further create a conducive environment for both teaching and learning.
