In celebration of the 6th year coronation and 61st birthday anniversary of Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, all sons and daughters of the land, both home and abroad, held a Golf Tournament to attract more royal fathers and younger ones into golfdom.
Shedding more light on the tournament, the Aare of Remoland, Kola Oyefeso, said the event was organised by Remo Golf Foundation at the Lafarge Cement Golf Club in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, adding that the event would encourage the royal fathers and the people to engage in Golf as a platform of exercise for healthy living.
Oyefeso added that the tournament was chosen to woo younger ones to appreciate the game, disclosing that it was an interesting game that could be played by people of all abilities and ages.
“The Golf Tournament has been a wind of positive change in Remoland and served as a bridge of uniting the people of different ethnic backgrounds together, as a big family’’, he said.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Organising Committee, Mr. Adewole Sowole, said the game was specifically put in place to honour the royal father and also provide a platform for coming in contact with friends and meeting new people.
On his part, the Radanua of Idado, Oba Musiliu Soile, said the Akarigbo was a blessing to Remoland, saying his tenure had brought progress and development, with the establishment of several companies across Remoland.
"Today monarchs are united and working for the betterment of Remoland. I believe with patience and endurance, Remoland will enjoy full security", he said.
At the end of the tournament, Remi Olukoya emerged winner with 74 Gross; Bayo Ali 2nd position with 86 Gross and Tunji Amiyu 3rd position with 87 Gross, in the Golf Men's Gross game, while Esan Adedeji won with 67 nets in the Men's Golf Net game category.
Prizes won include, a return ticket to any Value Jet Destination, 1 week's stay at Golf View Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos and N150,000:00 Gift Voucher, at any of the associate Golf Shops in Nigeria
Dignitaries at the event were, Elepe of Epe, HRH Oba Adewale Osiberu; Ewusi of Makun, HRH Oba Timothy Akinsanya; Radanuwa of Idado, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile; Alagura of Agura, HRH, Oba Lukman Allison and other royal fathers.
