Residents of Ijebu-Ode and its environs have been urged to prioritise their safety and that of their loved ones during the festive season, so as to enjoy crime-free Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Hon. Hon. Gazal pointed out that influx of the people into the town would be on the increase during the festive season, warning citizens to remain vigilant and be at alert to checkmate potential threats, noting that criminals usually throng round, looking for opportunities to strike.
He advised residents to minimize attending public gatherings during the festive season, cautioning against the use of firecrackers (bangers) among others, as anyone caught would be sanctioned.
The Chairman, who urged motorists to be patient while driving, enjoined them to always avoid overspeeding and refrain from alcohol consumption, expressing the desire to see everyone move around safely, without fear or intimidation, just as government had ensured the safety and wellbeing of the people during the Yuletide
