Towards improving the standard of living of rural dwellers in Ogun State, the state Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has reiterated his commitment to focus more on developmental projects in rural areas.
Abiodun made the declaration at the 2024 proposed budget tagged,’’ Budget of Sustained Growth and Development’’ held at the floor of the House of the Assembly, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Governor said his administration is making effort towards ensuring that more infrastructural projects are executed in the rural communities, such as stable power supply, good road network, among other social amenities, that would improve living condition of the rural dwellers.
He pointed out that a total of N703.03billion was proposed for the next fiscal year, saying infrastructural development would gulp 30 percent of the total expenditure, amounting to N209.122.60billion, under which rural development would take its share.
It would be recalled that the state had an ongoing programme tagged, ‘’Operation Light Up Ogun’’, with the involvement of Ministry of Rural Development for the provision of Solar Street Lights, Solar Home System kits to rural communities and households, as well as construction of Solar Boreholes.
