Discipline has been described as a core rudiment in the Civil Service that must be imbibed for a more productive workforce.
This was the submission of the acting Executive Secretary, Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board(OGSTVEB), Mr. Olubori Akinleye at a day training for the staffers of the Board, with the theme: ‘’Maintaining Discipline’’ held at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying discipline is key to maintaining work ethics, standards necessary for effective implementation of the policies and programmes of government.
According to him, "every organisation has goals, and discipline must take its full course to achieve optimal productivity, but it is painful that many people do not keep to rules, especially when it is not favourable to them".
He urged staffers to ensure they maintain rules and regulations in their various departments, in order to be at their best, be truthful and loyal at all times,noting that the management was committed to make the workplace conducive.
In her presentation, the resource person, Mrs. Busola Ogunyinka, pointed out that an organisation would be at its best when discipline is well maintained and workers wilfully obey the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of such establishment.
In their separate reactions, two of the participants, Mr. Adejimi Adegboyega and Mrs. Funmilayo Oshodi commended the Board for organising the training, submitting that the knowledge garnered would help the staff in the discharge of their duties.
