It is essential for all and sundry to leverage agricultural potentials and interventions initiated by the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State to boost the socio-economic status of the State.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Bolu Owotomo said this while receiving Councillors from Ijebu North East Local Government Area in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Owotomo, who described agriculture as an integral part of the development of any community, said there were several agricultural value chains that abound in communities that the people should take advantage of.

While commending the Councillors for the visit, he reiterated the present administration's commitment to ensuring that farmers and the people in general benefit optimally from all government agricultural programmes, tasked them to complement the efforts of government by initiating laudable programmes that would effectively engage residents of their wards.

Speaking earlier, the Leader of the House, Hon. (Mrs.) Olamide Ogunwale said the visit was to congratulate the Commissioner on his appointment and appealed to the Ministry for more support to farmers in the area.

 On their part, the Councillors representing wards 5 and 9, Honourables Okulaja Abiodun and Okuebo Adeniyi respectively, urged the Commissioner to put in place legacies that would improve the sector, achieve food security and attain food sufficiency.
