OUR DEVELOPMENTAL STRIDES REMAIN SACROSANCT- ABIODUN

 


The tremendous growth and development being experienced in the last few years of Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State remain sacrosanct in the fulfillment of its ’’Building Our Future Together Agenda’’ and as enshrined in the ISEYA Mantra.


Abiodun made this known, during the Egba Division Town Hall meeting, in preparation for the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the 2024 Appropriation Bill, held at the Cultural Center, Kuto Abeokuta.


 Represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, he noted that the policies and programmes of his administrations are done in the best interests of the majority of the citizenry, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or political affiliation, or social status.


According to Governor Abiodun, ”What you see in our system is a strategic approach towards the formulation and implementation of our policies and programmes which are geared towards the welfare, wellness, and wellbeing of our people".


He emphasised that the ongoing developmental strides being experienced across the state were a clear demonstration of his administration's resolve to continue to be fair, just accountable, transparent, equitable, and dedicated to a democratic ethos.


Abiodun reiterated that his government will continue to accord the people of the state an important position in the demonstration of the sincere commitment to good governance, calling all critical stakeholders to join hands in the task of building the future together.


Appreciating those present, especially the Royal fathers for the impressive turnout, he opined that the Egba division has again lived up to its reputation of political sophistication, applauding their consistency and unalloyed support for his administration.


In his goodwill message, the Commissioner for Finance and the Chief Economic Adviser to the Ogun State Governor, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, said the government was committed to adopting increased budgetary and inclusiveness in its drive to move the State forward.


He noted that the meeting was a sincere commitment of the government to good governance, reiterating that the government would continue to adhere to policy trust that will lead to the direct benefit of the citizens of the State.


In his remarks, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, stated that the vision of Dapo Abiodun's led government was to deliver good, focused and qualitative governance, and create an enabling environment for Public Private Partnership, (PPP), to develop and enhance value chain, adding that its strategy was to complete all ongoing project and implement new ones as well as formulate policies that will benefit the entire citizens of the state while revealing that 215 projects were completed within the last 12 months in Egba division.


Contributing, former Senator, Ogun Central, Sen. Gbenga Obadara, said the government needs to look into the road that leads to the train station at Laderin in Abeokuta as it is a monument to the people of Egbaland as well as Adatan Road.


The Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, represented by the Osile of Oke-Ona, HRH Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso, thanked the state government for including royalty in all its programmes and policies, urging the government to take more proactive steps towards the Lagos-Abeokuta road.


  Representing the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Secretary, Rev. Stephen Adeyemi and his Muslim Counterpart, Sheik Iskeel Lawal, called the attention of the government to Saje Mokola, Elega, Ilugun, Ibode Olude, and Ajitadun road, urging the state government to also do more on skill acquisition, empowerment for the youths, women and employment opportunities, saying that is the only way to reduce to barest minimum all social vices.
